What a better time to capitalize on the success of 2015's blockbuster film, Straight Outta Compton, then to list Eazy-E's Calabasas home known as the Playhouse where all kinds of activity took place. Imagine if these walls could talk or maybe not. The party house can be purchased for $2,550,000 which hit the market on March 6, 2016. However, the realtor didnt mention it probably because it was never a well known location but my awesome research skills tracked down this location. 

The home is located in the Mountain View Estates which is also home to many celebrities. Surprisingly or not, Jerry Heller (NWA Manager) lives two doors down and Dr. Dre continues to own a home that is one block west which were all purchased in 1991 on the heels of the NWA success. 

The home measures 5 Beds/6 Baths on 6,250 sqft on a total lot size of 15,502 sqft built in 1990. The listing description states:

Breathtaking view home located in the prestigious guard gated community of Mountain View Estates. This spectacular estate commands unobstructed views of rolling hills and open space, as well as being luxurious, warm, and uniquely charming. Enter through exquisite wrought iron double doors that feature soaring ceilings and marble flooring. Eazy-E purchased this home back on January 8, 1991 for $1,175,000 which was lost to foreclosure on December 27, 1995 for $810,000 after his death on March 26 of that year. The home was sold again in 1996, 2002, 2003, 2004, and finally in 2007 for $2,290,000 to a non-famous couple that operate a welding repair shop in Northridge. 

Back in 2013, TMZ incorrectly stated that Eazy's wife, Tomica Woods-Wright, lost the Calabasas home to foreclosure but that was a different home and not the infamous playhouse which TMZ quickly retracted. That home as well as other homes owned by Eazy-E can be read here.

TMZ first broke the news on November 13, 2015, that former Disney Star and singer, Selena Gomez, is selling her Calabasas mansion for $4,495,000 which was also listed on Nov 13. The property measures 6 Beds/7 Baths on 7,786 sqft on a total lot size of 3.15 acres built in 2004. Gomez barely purchased the property on March 21, 2014 for $3,690,000 which at today's asking price would represent a hefty $805K gain. The listing description states:

Sprawling over 3 acres, this exceptional custom home provides every amenity expected of a luxury estate. According to TMZ, the reason for the move is due to numerous stalkers and 911 calls despite the fact that the home is in a gated community and a short hop over the fence to Hidden Hills. Gomez has been widely discussed on this blog as we first talked about her in the past listed below: 

1. Encino rental that was sold in 2012, 
2. A Tarzana ranch home that was sold in 2014 to Nick Young, and Iggy Azalea 
3. For a brief period, there was even a rumor that Jonah Hill purchased the Tarzana home and sold it to Gomez but that was later corrected. 
4. And the purchase of the Calabasas home back in 2014. 

Its not known where Gomez is heading to next but she will be on tour for most of 2016 and just revealed that she is battling Lupus undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Gomez seems to have a place in heart for the SFV so hopefully she still calls it home but obviously needs to live in a gated community like Hidden Hills or other secure locations. 

On a side note, Gomez selected Josh Altman of Million Dollar Listing fame to represent her. Also there is an open house this Friday if you are inclined to make an offer.

The always informative folks at LA Times Hot Properties revealed on May 5, 2015, that rock star, Bret Michaels, has decided to move out of Calabasas in order to move onto his latest acquisition, a 2.6 acres mansion in Westlake Village. 

Michaels' Calabasas property was discussed on this blog (including home details and previously owned properties) in October 2014 after TMZ revealed that the rocker quietly purchased in March 2014 for $3,050,000. Flash forward to May 4, 2015 and the home appeared on the MLS for $3,649,000 where its has languished on the market until a price reduction on July 10, 2015 for $3,499,000 which eventually reached a pending status on August 31, 2015. Based on the current asking price, Michaels' stands to earn $449K before expenses which is pretty damn good for one year of living. The home measures 5 Beds/6 Baths on 6,797 sqft on a total lot size of 0.38 acres built in 2006. The listing description states:

Loverboy is a 1989 American comedy film starring Patrick Dempsey, Kirstie Alley, and Carrie Fisher.

Randy's family home at 4146 Vicasa Drive Calabasas CA. I believe the interior was also used but let me know if I am wrong. 

This is not a filming location but back when Kirstie Alley was skinny.

The wife of the bodybuilder, Monica, was located at 10010 Toluca Lake Avenue Toluca Lake, CA. This home was originally built in 1937 by director Norman McLeod according the LA Daily Mirror. However, the front of the house appears to have undergone some sort of renovation. The home is currently owned by Gerald Stoffers known for a Mexican home furnishings import business.

Randy narrowly escapes a pizza delivery from his mom located at the now Super 8 Canoga Park motel at 7631 Topanga Canyon Blvd Canoga Park CA.

The Chris Brown rental in the outskirts of the SFV in the Agoura Hills/Calabasas area popped up on the market on May 24, 2015 for either $4.2 million or lease at $16,500. Not sure if Brown already left or is in the process of moving out with a few day left to the end of the month. Brown first rented this party pad sometime in July 2014 for $15,500 which was discussed in detail here including pics. 

After barely one year of living in the home, all it took was some crazy girl to break into his house, make a mess in the kitchen, spray paint "I Love You" on the kitchen counter, spray paint "Mrs. Brown" on his Rolls Royce and Range Rover, and lie naked in his bed awaiting his return from Las Vegas to convince Brown to make some drastic changes. TMZ later followed up with a report that Brown was going to beef up security. I guess that plan didnt pan out. Not sure where Brown is heading to next. My guess is that its going to be a home in a gated community.

The property last sold in November 2005 for $2,875,000 to blues singer Melvin Eddy which received a notice of default back in July 2011 for $56,941.07 but was later canceled. Eddy lives down the street but in Malibu and has been trying to sell this home since 2008.

Back on March 11, 2015, the always informative Lauren Beale at LA Times Hot Property discussed the former Calabasas family home of Ricky Schroder hitting the market on February 12, 2015 for $5,498,950 which was later reduced $500K to $4,998,950 on April 10, 2015 and still available at the time of this writing. 

Ricky Schroder was a child star who grew to fame on the hit TV show, Silver Spoons, where I was jealous of Schroder's toy train that could be ridden around the house. I always wanted one in my house but no luck till this day. If you dont know what I am talking about, check out the clip at 1:19.

The home measures 5 Beds/7 Baths on 9, 166 sqft on a total lot size of 0.43 acres built in 1987. It seems that Schroder's family purchased this home brand new in 1987 shortly after Silver Spoons ended with Schroder attending Calabasas high school for his senior year. The family later sold on December 7, 1989 for $2,816,000. The home today looks like a Vegas nightclub with neon lights throughout the house included near the pool, bar/billiards room, and an overall resort like feel. I am not sure and doubt that the house existed like this back when Schroder lived in it and was probably updated with the most recent owners. The listing description states:

After the Calabasas home, Schroder got married in 1992 and built a custom ranch house in Colorado on a 55,550 acre plot with his new wife. Then they got into the house flipping game and fixed and sold properties in Scottsdale, Arizona and Colorado. Then they moved back to California to live in Topanga in March 2005 with their last known transaction was the purchase of a Malibu home in 2007.

Gossip juggernaut, TMZ, was the first to reveal on February 24, 2015, that Kylie Jenner, of the Kardashian clan purchased a Calabasas home in the infamous The Estates at the Oaks gated community which is home to many celebrities. The house sold on March 13, 2015 for $2.6 million which was three weeks after TMZ reported the news begging to ask the question, how does TMZ get their information? Shortly after the news reported, the celebrity gossip world broke in a frenzy which is a testament to how much the world "cares" about the Kardashian family with Curbed LA, Redfin, and Zillow in addition to the many other gossip sites spreading the news.  And here I am about 3 months late continuing with the obvious, so better late than never. 

For those not in the "know", Kylie is 17 years old going on 18 making her first multi-million dollar house purchase when most people at that age can barely afford a latte. But according to TMZ, her earnings are legit through the reality show as well as her influence on the teenage crowd. When I was 17, I was barely scrapping gas money for my Cadillac Deville and thats when gas prices were dirt cheap. But major props to a teenager for achieving the American dream at a young age. Nobody said this world was equal. 

With the great fascination of the Kardashian family and the fact that their home base is in the SFV, I have also provided extensive coverage of the real estate holdings in the past as listed below: 

1. The fake home (post also includes actual home locations) used in the reality show in Studio City has been available on and off the market since 2007 with no takers till this date which is currently off market as of July 2014. 
2. Khloe's Tarzana home shared with Lamar Odom was purchased by Kaley Cuoco in January 2014. 
3. Kourtney purchased Keyshawn Johnson's Calabasas pad in March 2014 which also includes their previous Calabasas home. 
4. Khloe purchased Justin Beiber's Calabasas home in March 2014.
5. Kim and Kanye West purchased the former property of Lisa Marie Presley which was torn down and rebuilt by a UCLA doctor in August 2014. They also purchased a home next door which was also owned by Lisa Marie Presley and was purchased by the UCLA doctor to rebuild but that didnt pan out leaving the door open for the Kim and Kanye to do whatever they want. 

The home measures 5 Beds/5.5 Baths on 4,851 sqft on a total lot size of 0.36 acres built in 2006. The listing description states:

On a complete random note but of somewhat importance to SFV history buffs, this home was first purchased in 2006 (later sold in 2013) by the President of Super Calidad Auto Sales, Inc in Canoga Park on Sherman Way which was the former home of Clem Ruh Chevrolet which is best remembered by the awesome googie sign still standing today. As the saying goes, its a small world.
