[Update May 11, 2014]: This home sold for $2.4 million on March 18, 2014 after first being listed in March 2010.
[Original Post]:
One quick update before discussing Beau's home in Hidden Hills. Going back to Encino, the historic home previously owned by Charlie Sheen, Kirstie Alley, Don Ameche, Steven Seagal, and Katey Sagal sold for $5.2 million representing a massive $1,420,000 loss for the previous owners.Back on November 19, 2011, the always hilarious Your Mama at the Realestalker discussed Emmy nominated actor Beau Bridges home listing in the exclusive gated community of Hidden Hills for $2,850,000 which was actually listed last year on March 29, 2010 for $3,250,000. Bridges hails from Hollywood Royalty as his dad is emmy nominated Lloyd Bridges (I distincly remember Lloyd from Airplane I and II as the chain smoking Steve McCroskey) and his brother is Oscar winner Jeff Bridges from films like Tron, Crazy Heart, True Grit, and Tucker: The Man and His Dream to name a few. The 70 year old Beau has had an extensive career in Hollywood going back to 1949 with more than 100 film credits and counting working on notable films like Max Payne, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Stargate SG-1, and Norma Rae.
According to the listing this 6 Bed/B Bath,7,000 sqft home on 1.16 acres built in 1976 states:
This enchanting custom Hidden Hills residence is nestled on a 1.15 flat acre lot of lushly landscaped grounds. Designed by Marshall Lewis, this distinctive home boasts 6 bedrooms, 6 baths plus office. Warm woods, picture windows and spacious interior flow allow for both grand entertaining and casual get togethers. Chefs remodeled kitchen features granite counters, Viking stainless appliances, SubZero refrigerator/freezer and sunny breakfast nook with garden views. The spacious main living area consists of a billiard room, formal living room, family room with wet bar and sunken conversation area all designed around a floor to ceiling brick and mortar fireplace. Wood floors, vaulted beamed ceiling, french windows and doors through out. Dual stairways lead to the second level offering 3 en-suite bedrooms, a romantic master suite with warming fireplace, private dressing room, multiple closets and lovely bath, plus a private office with fireplace and wine closet. Serene tranquil grounds envelope this one of a kind home. Entertainers patio with BBQ, sparkling brick lined pool and spa, N/S tennis court, green house, fruit trees, sprawling green lawns and serenity garden beyond! This unique jewel is a must see!
This property was last purchased on May 27, 1988 for $1,200,000 hoping to give Beau a cool $1,650,000 profit not counting taxes, commissions, and expenses over the years netting him a more than 137% return on his original investment which is not bad considering he bought in the last mini real estate ramp up in the late 80's.
Its not known why Beau is selling his Hidden Hills mansion or where he is headed. However, property records list a condo that is shared between his siblings Jeff and Lucinda with Beau as the Trustee and the Trust aptly named Bridges Family Trust. This 2 Bed/2Bath condo (shown below) is located across the 101 in Calabasas (or Agoura Hills) that was purchased for $500,000 in 1989 (again at the top of the mini real estate boom in the late 80's) and recently sold on March 5, 2010 for $330,000 giving the Bridges family a $170,000 loss over a 21 year timeframe. I am not sure who owned what and how it was used so dont quote me on the accuracy of this property. Maybe it was handed down from their father, Lloyd.
There is also another condo in Los Angeles owned by a trust that may be linked to the Bridges Family. This 2 Bed/2 Bath condo has no price history so I assuming this was also purchased sometime in the 80's and is still owned by the family but I am not sure in what capacity it is used today.
The Realestalker also discussed in his post that Beau owns a 6.25 acre spread in Kilauea on the Hawaiian island of Kauai since May 1997 so maybe he is living SoCal.
