Former Los Angeles Laker Dennis Schröder’s Tarzana home is on the market for $6 million. The gated contemporary property pairs a basketball court with a pool, a rooftop gathering space and a separate guesthouse—all south of Ventura Boulevard.
A Tarzana purchase during his Lakers years
Schröder and his wife, Ellen Ziolo, bought the property during his first stint with the Lakers. Architectural Digest covered their purchase in February 2021, describing a contemporary residence with a separate guesthouse.
The home later appeared on the rental market. Realtor.com reported a $40,000 monthly asking rent in November 2023.
Living spaces that open to the yard
The main house has six bedrooms, with Fleetwood doors connecting its open living areas to the backyard. The kitchen includes a large island, a Sub-Zero refrigerator and a walk-in pantry. A theater and private office provide separate spaces for movies and work, according to the MLS listing description.
The primary suite has its own fireplace, two walk-in closets and a balcony overlooking the grounds. Multiple fireplaces and a Control4 smart-home system round out the interior amenities.
A basketball court, pool and separate guesthouse
Outside, the level grounds accommodate an infinity-edge pool and spa, outdoor cooking facilities, lawn and a basketball court. A rooftop bar adds another place to entertain.
The listing describes the detached, two-level guesthouse as more than 1,100 square feet, with an upstairs bedroom, a downstairs loft and bathroom facilities. Its separation from the main house gives guests a space of their own.
Why the square-footage figures need care
The current listing displays 6,978 square feet, while Architectural Digest’s 2021 purchase story reported more than 8,400 square feet across two structures. Those figures are not reconciled in the available material. Buyers should confirm the measured area and what each total includes before making a comparison.
