This home was built by Allan Adler (1916 - 2002) who "designed silverware and holloware in unadorned, geometric shapes inspired by the Modernist art movement of the early 1900's." He was known for his large clientele ranging from Errol Flynn to Michael Jackson. He designed mini-Oscars for Academy Award winners and crowns for Miss Universe and Miss U.S.A. Consequently, he became known as the "Silversmith to the Stars." You can read more about him in an excellent obituary written by the LA Times on December 5, 2002 by Mary Rourke. On additional note, the Allan Adler Design company still exists based in Costa Mesa.
This house remained in the Adler family until May 22, 2007 when it was sold for $2,210,000 to Dan and Stacee Blom. I believe Dan Blom is a bit actor whose best known for 1993's Body Bags. I am not entirely sure about this so dont quote me. The home listing description states:
