The former home of the late Jeff Conaway in Tarzana has hit the market for $1,179,000 on August 6, 2014. Jeff Conaway is an actor best known for his roles as "Kenickie" on 1978's Grease and "Bobby Wheeler" on Taxi which ran from 1978 to 1982. Conaway who started acting as a child would play in a number of roles on TV and Film until his death in 2011.

Recently, he was more known for his appearances on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew due to his rampant drug, alcohol, and painkiller addictions as well as violent outbursts. Consequently, his abuse caught up with him, and Conaway passed away on May 26, 2011 at the age of 60 at Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center due to pneumonia as a result from encephalopathy (global brain dysfunction) which is attributed to drug overdoses.

The home measures 4 Beds/4 Baths on 3,000 sqft on a total lot size of 0.50 acres built in 1961. The listing description states:
A stunning resort-like setting awaits you in this tastefully redone gated Melody Acres custom 4 bedroom home of approximately 3000 sq ft. This exquisite, one-of-a kind property features a spacious and open floor plan with abundant natural light throughout, amazing chef's kitchen with stainless steel appliances and counters. Enter through the French doors from any number of rooms to the tropical paradise backyard fit for entertaining with enormous pool, waterfall, island in the center, rock fountain, gazebo, fire pit to cozy up to, BBQ, huge grassy area and lush landscaping on a ? acre lot. Other features include: limestone throughout, French doors and windows, recessed lighting. Designer-owned!
Based on property records, it appears that Conaway didnt own this home but rather rented it for an unknown amount or time. This home was briefly shown in Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew when Conaway returns from the Pasadena Recovery Center and was also featured on a youtube video (click on link, see image below) titled "Violence is an Answer" which appears to be a home video created by Conaway and his girlfriend Vikki Lizzi clearly showing the Tarzana home.

The current owner purchased the home on May 31, 2001 for $507,000 and is looking at a gain of $672,000 before any expenses.

Prior to this home, it is possible that Conaway lived in other parts of LA including Encino, Sherman Oaks, and Calabasas.

I cant even imagine how much drugs, alcohol, and who knows what else has been taken in this house.
