The home was previously owned by Lawrence Pollack who started the Saddle Ranch Restaurant chain. He  purchased this home for $2,775,000 on October 23, 2003 and appeared to have modified it significantly to his liking by adding a mechanical bull for instance that has become a trademark at his restaurants. Based on the sale to Drake, Lawrence Pollack will earn a profit of $4,925,000 which doesnt take into account taxes, commissions, any other related expenses, and probably  at least $1 million to renovate the home.

Prior to the sale to Drake, Pollack had been trying to sell the home since 2009 for the staggering sum of $27.5 million which was listed on and off again throughout 2009 and 2010 for the much reduced asking price of $10,800,000.

Lawrence Pollack purchased this home from William Peter Blatty who is famous for writing the novel The Exorcist as well as the screenplay version on December 31, 1990 for an unknown price that appears to be at least $1 million according to property records.
