Hip hop artist and actor Drake, real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, has purchased a massive mansion in the Hidden Hills area of the San Fernando Valley for $7.7 million on July 6, 2012 according to the fine folks at Trulia Luxe Living. Drakewas formerly renting this home for roughly $45,000/month according to the In Flex We Trust site.

Drake is known for playing "Jimmy Brooks" on the TV show series Degrassi: The Next Generation.  He later turned his efforts towards rapping signing a recording contract with Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment in 2009. He has also collaborated with several hip hop artists like Kanye West, Eminem, and Jay-Z and has been nominated for several Grammys.

The home measures either 7 Beds/9 Baths on 7,444 sqft or 6 Beds/10 Baths on 12,500 sqft according to two different sources. The home was originally built in 1974 on 2.92 acres. Almost every amenity is included with this purchase including an 80' slide, grotto, waterfalls, mechanical bull, commercial bathrooms, a spa with massage room, chessboard with life-size pieces, etc. Here is the listing:

The home was previously owned by Lawrence Pollack who started the Saddle Ranch Restaurant chain. Based on the sale to Drake, Lawrence Pollack will earn a profit of $4,925,000 which doesnt take into account taxes, commissions, any other related expenses, and probably  at least $1 million to renovate the home.

Prior to the sale to Drake, Pollack had been trying to sell the home since 2009 for the staggering sum of $27.5 million which was listed on and off again throughout 2009 and 2010 for the much reduced asking price of $10,800,000.

Lawrence Pollack purchased this home from William Peter Blatty who is famous for writing the novel The Exorcist as well as the screenplay version on December 31, 1990 for an unknown price that appears to be at least $1 million according to property records.
