Back on October 27, 2011, the always informative Lauren Beale at L.A. Times Hot Property discussed the listing of actress Joyce Compton's former home in Sherman Oaks for $1,795,000. Joyce Compton is known for working mostly in "B-movies from the 1920s through the 1950s. She was a comedy actress and protested at being stereotyped as a 'dumb blonde'." (Wikipedia)
According to the listing this 3 Bed/3.5 Bath, 3,306 sqft home on 0.29 acres built in 1936 specifically for Joyce Compton states:

In case you had any doubts that Joyce Compton lived in this home, I found this autographed note for sale a the Historyforsale.com website where Joyce Compton's address in Sherman Oaks is listed. If you are interested in purchased this note, its currently available for $399.
According to the Redfin listing, the last known property transactions were on January 17, 1992 for $775,000 and August 1, 1990 for $550,000. Its unknown when Joyce Compton last sold the property. She did pass away recently in 1997 and was buried at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.

Originally this property was first listed back in June 20, 2011 for $2,195,000 and was reduced in price twice back on September 6, 2011 to $1,895,000 and then again on October 12, 2011 to the current asking price of $1,795,000. We wish luck to the current owners as the Sherman Oaks area has been home to other celebrities trying to offload their properties including Former Marlon Brando, Randall Zisk & Brook Langton, Wayne Brady, John Larroquette, Pink, Jesse Alexander, and not to mention the many other celebrities living in the SFV.
