Du Bois designed roughly 1,300 Contemporary Ranch houses for Don-Ja-Ran Construction Company in collaboration with Peerless Building Company.
A Midcentury Plan Reworked for 2026
The home's architectural identity begins with its long, low profile and the way its main rooms turn toward the backyard. Earlier marketing described a double-door entrance opening to a light-filled living room, with the swimming pool visible beyond. Vaulted beamed ceilings and fireplaces were already defining features of the interior.
The current listing describes new roofing, electrical work, plumbing and windows. Wide-plank hardwood floors now run through an open living area organized around a kitchen with an eight-foot island, quartz counters, high-end appliances and extensive storage. Those improvements are seller-provided claims; buyers should independently verify permits and the scope of the work.
The primary suite opens directly to the yard and includes a fireplace and walk-in closet. Its bathroom has a freestanding soaking tub, an oversized shower with dual shower heads and access to a private outdoor area with a sauna and shower. A separate bedroom wing also opens to the backyard, while a den can function as a media room, playroom or lounge.
The Pool Yard Becomes Another Living Space
The heated pool remains the organizing feature outside. A covered pavilion adds an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven and built-in barbecue, while a fire pit, lawn and mature fruit trees divide the yard into separate places for dining, lounging and entertaining. The two-car garage is equipped with an EV charger, according to the listing.
The remodel adds the conveniences expected in a contemporary luxury listing, but the house still draws much of its appeal from the original concept: one-story living, expressive ceilings and an easy connection between the interior and backyard. The listing does not establish how much original fabric survives, so the property is better understood as a reinterpretation than a restoration.
From a 2024 Sale to a New 2026 Listing
Redfin records a $1.852 million sale in April 2024. The remodeled property returned to the market in January 2026 at $2.575 million, moved to $2.699 million in February and sold for $2.7 million in March. It was listed again on September 21 for $2.65 million—$50,000 below that March sale price. The comparison does not account for construction, financing, carrying or transaction costs.
