The front of the postcard captures a classic mid-century Van Nuys Boulevard commercial scene: a tall white tower with the Goodyear Tires shield, large “GOODYEAR” lettering across the storefront, a visible service area, colorful sale banners, and rows of small appliances and equipment displayed outside. It is the kind of roadside retail architecture that was designed to be seen from the street, especially along a busy commercial corridor like Van Nuys Boulevard.
The reverse side of the postcard identifies the business as:
Goodyear Service
6710 Van Nuys Blvd.
Van Nuys, California
State 5-1137
Today, the building appears to remain largely intact, with the same basic tower form still visible from Van Nuys Boulevard. The Goodyear signage is gone, and the site no longer appears to operate as a Goodyear tire store, but the building’s distinctive vertical tower makes it easy to connect the current structure back to the postcard view.
The current image shows the old tower now painted gray, with newer commercial tenants occupying the storefronts and service bays. Although the original Goodyear branding has disappeared, the building still carries the bones of its earlier life as a tire, appliance, and auto service store.

This is another example of an old San Fernando Valley commercial building where the original tenant has disappeared, but the architecture still tells the story.
