The home measures 9 Beds/12 Baths on 17,129 sqft on a total lot size of 3.13 acres built in 1992 and spread out over 2 parcels. The listing description states:
View estate of 17,129 sq. ft. with 9 bedrooms on 3 acres in the guard-gated equestrian community of Hidden Hills. The property will impress and appeal to everyone and is a perfect fit for the working entertainer. A breezeway connects two structures designed to offer the tranquility of one's private home with the convenience of a separate wing for entertainment and work. It is rare to find such an approachable estate designed for the perfect combination of flow and function. This is that rare home. The main wing is designed for casually elegant everyday living, offering formal and informal living rooms, a dining room capable of handling over 12, a master suite with sitting area and private balcony, and 7 additional bedroom suites. The entertainment wing includes a lounge/saloon with bar, recording studio, dance studio/gym, 20-seat theater, and au pair suite. Perched on the coveted Ashley Ridge section of Hidden Hills, the estate has views of city lights and the San Gabriel Mountains.
Lopez originally purchased this property on January 15, 2010 for $8.2 million back when she was married to Marc Anthony (married in June 2004), but later separated in June 2011, and finalized the divorce in June 2014. Based on the current asking price, Lopez is looking to gain double the price or $8.8 million in less than 5 years of living. I am not sure how this home was handled in the divorce proceedings so its possibly Anthony gets nothing from the sale or his share was bought out.
Speaking of Anthony, he settled down in an Encino home conveniently or not located next to the 101 in April 2013 and later relisted on November 2014. You can view the listing pictures and details for the 2013 purchase which includes pics of the Hidden Hills home and the 2014 listing.
The reason for the move according to TMZ is that the house is simply too big for Lopez to maintain and has her sights set on a smaller Malibu view home of the Pacific. She already owns mansions in the East Coast with a Hamptons purchase in May 2013 and a New York City purchase in October 2014.
