From the fabulous folks at Trulia Luxe Living on April 7, 2014 is the latest news that actress Melissa Joan Hart has purchased a modest Studio City home for $949,000 on March 26, 2014.

Melissa Joan Hart has been acting since 1985 and gained noterity through hit shows like Clarissa Explains It All (1991 - 1994), Sabrina, the Teenage Wtich (1996 - 2003), and Melissa & Joey (2010 - present).

The home measures 3 Beds/3 Baths on 2,364 sqft on a total lot size of 4,996 sqft built in 1951. The listing description states:
Very Secluded & Lovely Home in a most Desirable Studio City Location, it is just 3 Short Blocks to Trendy Ventura Blvd & Just Across the Famous CBS Studios: Here you have 3 Bedrooms, 3 Remodeled full Bathrooms. Large Convertible DEN with its own full bath Ideal as Guest Quarters or private Office, nice Kitchen with most Appliances, good size Pantry, Superb Floor Plan, all well Maintained, Recessed Lights, Skylights & some High Ceilings, Attached 2 car Garage with Alley entrance . The Home was for seclusion purposes built all the way back & the Stunningly Private & Huge Front Yard is Really Great for Entertaining plus Lots of Possibilities like a Pool, Spa, Gazebo, Show off Garden etc. but still it has a small cozy Rear Patio, Yard or Retreat. This Home offers the possibility of converting the DEN into a Junior Master Suite on the Main Floor and the Master Suite on the Second Floor each with full its full Bathroom, Better yet your Family will have the Honor of being located a Short distance to Coveted Award Winning Carpenter Elementary & Campbell Hall Schools. The entire building seems very updated even with a Tank less Water Heater, Central Air & heating & much more. See to Believe
The purchase of this home seems somewhat suspect as it is located directly across the street from the CBS Radford Studios which coincidentally or not is where Melissa Joan Hart currently films her Melissa & Joey show. So did Melissa Joan Hart simply purchase a modest sized home (by celebrity measures) to have a shorter commute to work? Its actually quite possible as she now lives 3,000 miles away in Connecticut after residing in the LA (mostly the SFV) since at least the early 90's. I put on my celebrity detective hat and examined the previous homes Melissa Joan Hart owned.

Melissa Joan Hart's first purchase was in the Hollywood Hills (shown above). The home measures 2 Beds/3 Bath on 2,378 sqft built in 1938. Hart purchased on October 24, 1997 for $865,000 and later sold to Raphael Saadiq (R&B singer from Tony! Toni! Tone!) for $1.4 million on May 23, 2003 netting a gain of $535,000 before any expenses. Raphael Saadiq was either foreclosed on this property or sell for $1.1 million on November 8, 2011 representing a $300K loss.

After the Hollywood Hills sale, Hart briefly moved to Encino (shown above) in a 5 Beds/7 Baths on 5,618 sqft built in 1950 home. Hart purchased on April 3, 2003 for $2.5 million from talent agent Adam Venit (represented Adam Sander and Dustin Hoffman to name a few) and later sold on April 7, 2005 for $3.15 million representing a $650,000 gain. This home was sold to Haim Saban (billionaire TV producer famous for The Power Rangers and a bunch of other cartoons) who later sold or possibly gifted to his daughter Heidi Saban Stills (actress with many credits since the 80's) who sold for $2.4 million on February 22, 2013. This property was blogged about here back in 2011.

After the sale of the Encino home, Hart decided to move down Ventura Blvd to a Sherman Oaks home (shown above) measuring 5 Beds/5 Baths on 4,9111 sqft built in 2004. Hart purchased on April 15, 2005 for $2.4 million and had a quick change of mind as she later sold on December 2, 2005 for $2.55 million representing a $150,000 gain. This home was sold to Wayne Brady (actor best known for improv comedy on Whose Line Is It Anyway?) who later sold on March 29, 2013 for $1.8 million representing a $700,000 loss. This home was blogged here back in 2011.

After the brief stay in the Sherman Oaks, Hart didnt move to far to another Sherman Oaks home (shown above) that measures 5 Beds/5.5 Baths on 4,911 sqft built in 2005. Hart purchased on November 29, 2005 for $2.8 million and later sold for $2.475 million on July 28, 2009. This sale translated into a loss of $325,000 before any expenses eating into her previous home sale profits that totaled $535K + $650K + $150K = $1.335 million. At the end of the day Hart is still up about $1 million not factoring expenses.  This home was also discussed here and here

After the Sherman Oaks home sale, Hart decided to leave LA altogether for a family community setting in Westport, Connecticut. I guess she got tired of the Hollywood life and wanted to get away although she still works in Hollywood so she definitely racks up the frequent flyer miles.  I wasnt able to find any details of that home which it appears that Hart has gone to great lengths to conceal its location despite providing interior photo teases here, here, and here

In addition the CT home, Hart also owns a Lake Tahoe cabin in Incline Village, NV overlooking the Diamond Peak Ski Resort. This home measures 4 Beds/2.5 Baths on 3,564 sqft built in 1989 which was purchased on May 20, 2005 for $950,000.

And if you didnt get enough Melissa Joan Hart up until now, her parents also live in Malibu and I believe they may have also lived in a Sherman Oaks home and other locations in the SFV at one time. But that is enough for now.
