Latest Newsbites: LAPD Targeting Speeders in Sherman Oaks, Another School Campus Shutdown, and Luke Perry Protesting Against LAUSD Cuts
Another crazy day in the Valley:
- This is unfortunately going to be old news but cops are cracking down on speeding in Sherman Oaks, 67 speeding tickets were issued this morning with one driver caught doing 71 in a 40 mph zone. This is near Notre Dame high school so be on the lookout. Its probably too late now, but maybe its best to not rush in the morning. Who knows you might save some gas too. L.A. Daily News Article
- Its almost been 3 months since the El Camino Real High school shooting which later turned out to be a hoax, now there is another similar incident near Sunny Brae Elementary in Winnetka. In this instance, a stolen car crashed nearby the school and the suspects fled. One suspect was caught while the other remains at large. Luckily no one was hurt, the school was declared safe shortly before the start of the school day preventing the same fiasco from occurring at El Camino where students couldnt even go to the bathroom for hours and parents could not take the children home. - I recently talked about Tori Spelling leaving Encino, well her former cast member of Beverly Hills, 90210, Luke Perry was out on the streets of Sherman Oaks protesting LAUSD budget cuts for Millikan Middle School. This is obviously affecting all LAUSD schools even in the more affluent areas and seems to be a common theme as this happened last year and something tells me this will happen again next year. Luke, maybe you and all your celebrity friends can do a fundraiser to save the LAUSD school system. KTLA article.
To put things on the bright side, looks like it will be in the high 80's this weekend. Time to have a BBQ and jump in the pool.
