Netflix's The Hawk may be set largely in the world of professional golf in Pensacola, Florida, but a surprising amount of the series was filmed much closer to home in and around the San Fernando Valley.
The 2026 Netflix comedy stars Will Ferrell as Lonnie "The Hawk" Hawkins, a former golf star attempting a comeback. While watching the series, I started recognizing familiar streets, shopping centers, golf courses and businesses around the Valley.
Netflix later confirmed that The Hawk filmed primarily around Los Angeles for 67 days and used more than 40 locations. Among the locations publicly identified by Netflix were Northridge Fashion Center and Woodland Hills Country Club.
Below are the San Fernando Valley filming locations I was able to identify while watching the series, along with one location that remains a mystery.

Northridge Fashion Center and the Surrounding Streets
Season 1, Episode 1
9301 Tampa Avenue, Northridge, CA 91324
One of the most extensive San Fernando Valley sequences appears in the very first episode around Northridge Fashion Center and the surrounding streets near Plummer Street, Tampa Avenue and Shirley Avenue.
Netflix independently confirmed Northridge Fashion Center as one of the locations used for The Hawk. The sequence goes well beyond the mall itself, however, using the surrounding Northridge streets and commercial landscape to help create the show's fictional Florida setting.
Another recognizable piece of the sequence is the Nordhoff Street bridge over the Amtrak and Metrolink railroad tracks. Together with the mall, wide boulevards, palm trees and surrounding shopping centers, the scene provides a surprisingly large tour of Northridge while supposedly taking place thousands of miles away.
Because so many different angles and portions of the neighborhood appear in this sequence, the screenshots are grouped into a gallery below.
Sherman Oaks Castle Park
Season 1, Episode 1
4989 Sepulveda Boulevard, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403
Episode 1 also visits Sherman Oaks Castle Park, the longtime miniature-golf, arcade and batting-cage complex on Sepulveda Boulevard.
Its elaborate rockwork, waterfalls, palm trees and heavily landscaped miniature-golf courses are used effectively by the production. Seen through the camera, the familiar Valley attraction can easily pass for someplace much more tropical.

Balboa Golf Course - Sepulveda Basin
Season 1, Episode 1
16821 Burbank Boulevard, Encino, CA 91436
Another Episode 1 golf sequence was filmed at Balboa Golf Course, part of the Encino-Balboa golf complex in the Sepulveda Basin. The Balboa and Encino courses share the municipal golf facility at 16821 Burbank Boulevard.
The broad, relatively flat course and mature trees are characteristic of the Sepulveda Basin setting and provide another San Fernando Valley stand-in for the golf world depicted in the series.

DeBell Golf Club - Burbank
Season 1, Episode 3
1500 E. Walnut Avenue, Burbank, CA 91501
In Season 1, Episode 3, The Hawk moves to DeBell Golf Club in Burbank. This sequence was filmed on hole 18.
The steep terrain and Verdugo Mountain backdrop make DeBell noticeably different from the flatter courses in the central San Fernando Valley.

Unidentified Shopping Center
Season 1, Episode 4
This Episode 4 location remains the biggest mystery in the post. The hills in the background, the street and parking-lot layout, and especially the low commercial building behind the bus with what looks like a mid-century design all give the scene a strong San Fernando Valley feel.
At the same time, none of those clues are conclusive, and the location really could be almost anywhere in Southern California. A Sprouts sign appears to be visible in the sequence, but it may be set dressing rather than the sign of an actual Sprouts Farmers Market at the filming location.

Diamond Auto Parts - North Hollywood
Season 1, Episode 5
7600 Laurel Canyon Boulevard, North Hollywood, CA 91605
Season 1, Episode 5 brings the production to Diamond Auto Parts at Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Saticoy Street in North Hollywood.
The storefront and surrounding commercial strip are visible in the sequence. The gallery below emphasizes the wider location views and the frames featuring the actors rather than repeating nearly identical shots of the Diamond Auto Parts sign.
Valley Plaza - North Hollywood
The final identified location is the sprawling Valley Plaza commercial area around Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Victory Boulevard in North Hollywood.
Valley Plaza opened in the early 1950s and became one of the San Fernando Valley's major automobile-oriented shopping centers. Large portions of the older complex later became vacant, leaving expansive parking lots and aging storefronts that have frequently attracted film and television productions.
That distinctive landscape appears again in The Hawk.
Woodland Hills Country Club
21150 Dumetz Road, Woodland Hills, CA 91364
Although I do not currently have a matching screenshot in this post, Netflix has independently confirmed that Woodland Hills Country Club was also used during production of The Hawk.
Netflix even published a behind-the-scenes photograph of Will Ferrell filming at the club, making Woodland Hills Country Club one of the strongest independently documented San Fernando Valley filming locations connected to the series.
More Than 40 Los Angeles Locations
According to Netflix, The Hawk filmed primarily around Los Angeles for 67 days and used more than 40 different locations.
In addition to Northridge Fashion Center and Woodland Hills Country Club, Netflix named Friendly Hills Country Club, Moorpark Country Club, Pelican Hill Golf Course, Rolling Hills Country Club, Sand Canyon Country Club, Spanish Hills Golf Course, the Four Seasons Westlake Village, Los Angeles Athletic Club, King Buffet, Marina del Rey Hotel, Pacific Palms Resort and the W Hollywood.
Netflix also reported that the production worked with more than 320 local vendors.
