Vanessa Hudgens’ Former Studio City Home Lists for $3.499 Million
A Spanish-style Studio City home that Vanessa Hudgens owned during the height of her High School Musical fame is back on the market, now asking $3.499 million after more than a year of price changes and relistings.
The hillside residence sits at the end of a cul-de-sac in Wrightwood Estates. The current listing describes five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and 5,288 square feet across three levels, with panoramic mountain and city-light views, a home theater, a pool and spa, and an attached three-car garage.
Santa Barbara Style in the Studio City Hills
Built in 2005, the house takes its cues from traditional Santa Barbara Spanish architecture. White stucco walls, a tile roof, wrought-iron details and arched openings give the exterior an old-world character that continues inside.
A double-height foyer and curved staircase establish the scale on arrival. Wood and stone-tile floors run through the main living areas, where picture windows and French doors frame the surrounding hills. The formal dining room has a domed ceiling and fireplace, while the family room pairs a coffered ceiling with built-in cabinetry and another fireplace.
The kitchen opens to the family room and centers on a large island. Green cabinetry, a tiled backsplash and generous windows make it more colorful and individual than the all-white kitchens common in newer luxury construction.
A Primary Suite Arranged Around the View
The primary suite includes a sitting or office area divided from the bedroom by a double-sided fireplace. French doors open to a private covered balcony, turning the mountain backdrop into part of the room.
The adjoining bathroom has a soaking tub, separate shower and double vanity, along with a walk-in closet. Other bedrooms also connect to outdoor terraces, extending the home’s indoor-outdoor plan beyond the principal living spaces.
A separate maid’s or guest room adds flexibility, while the dedicated theater—with tiered seating and a projection screen—provides one of the property’s more overtly Hollywood amenities.
Terraced Outdoor Spaces, a Pool and Waterfall Spa
The roughly 0.38-acre site is steep rather than lawn-driven, so its outdoor areas unfold across several levels. Covered dining space sits just outside the house, with Moroccan-style pendant lights hanging above the table.
Below, an in-ground pool and spa are joined by waterfall features. Stone steps lead between lounge areas and a second entertaining space with a built-in barbecue, refrigerator and counter seating. Balconies and terraces throughout the property take advantage of the elevated setting, with views reaching across the Valley and toward the mountains.
The result feels less like a conventional suburban backyard than a sequence of hillside rooms. It also reflects the lot’s greatest asset: privacy and an outlook that would be difficult to reproduce on flatter ground.
Hudgens Bought the Home as High School Musical Took Off
Hudgens purchased the property for $2.75 million in September 2008, shortly before the theatrical release of High School Musical 3: Senior Year. She was 19 at the time, and the house became her first widely reported major real-estate purchase.
During her ownership, Hudgens gave the residence a more personal identity. Realtor.com reported in 2019 that she brightened the exterior and introduced Moorish and Moroccan-inspired details, including the hanging lights over the outdoor dining area. Listing agent Michael J. Okun told Mansion Global in 2025 that many of her design choices remained because the subsequent owners had not undertaken a full renovation.
After about 11 years, Hudgens listed the home in February 2019 for $3.895 million. The price was reduced to $3.449 million, and the property sold that April for $3.15 million.
Hudgens went on to own a historic Los Feliz house previously associated with actor Gary Oldman. Known as Little DeMille, the Georgian Colonial was built by filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille in 1922. In 2022, she returned to Studio City with the purchase of a larger modern farmhouse nearby—bringing her real-estate story back to the neighborhood where it began.
A Long Listing Run Brings the Price to $3.499 Million
The current owners first offered the property in May 2025 for $4.375 million. A series of reductions brought the asking price to $3.499 million by April 2026, and the house was most recently relisted at that figure on July 10.
The present price is $876,000, or 20 percent, below the original 2025 ask. It is also $349,000 above the home’s 2019 sale price, an increase of roughly 11.1 percent. At 5,288 square feet, the current ask works out to approximately $662 per square foot.

The celebrity history provides the headline, but the house’s more lasting appeal is architectural: a richly detailed Spanish-style residence with expansive views, unusually generous terraces and a pool complex built into the Studio City hills.
