Back in 2015, SFV Blog covered the former Encino home of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans when the Amestoy Estates property was being marketed as a teardown and redevelopment opportunity. At the time, the listing described a large street-to-street double lot with subdivision potential, making it clear that the value was increasingly tied to the land rather than the original celebrity estate.
SFV Blog previously covered this property in a 2015 post titled Celeb R.E.: Former Roy Rogers/Dale Evans Home In Encino For Sale, and also referenced the couple’s Chatsworth connection in a Christopher Hart / Roy Rogers Estates post, noting that Roy Rogers and Dale Evans once owned a Chatsworth home before later moving to Apple Valley.
A decade later, it appears that the transformation is complete. The former Roy Rogers and Dale Evans home looks to have been completely torn down, with no visible remnants of the old estate remaining. In its place is a newer luxury residence in the heart of Encino’s Amestoy Estates, one of the Valley’s most desirable estate neighborhoods.
According to the current Redfin listing, the property is now a 7,200-square-foot home with 6 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, listed for $7,199,000. Redfin also shows the property last sold in March 2023 for $6,400,000, with the current structure listed as built in 2022. The Redfin sale history shows the home was listed on January 12, 2026, with price changes on February 11 and March 18, meaning it has been sitting on the market for roughly 177 days as of July 8, 2026.
Roy Rogers, known as the “King of the Cowboys,” and Dale Evans, the “Queen of the West,” were among the most recognizable entertainment figures of the mid-20th century. Their San Fernando Valley story extended beyond Encino, with past homes and ranch properties tied to several Valley communities.

The Encino property now tells a different but familiar Valley story. What was once connected to two beloved Hollywood Western stars has been replaced by a newer luxury home, reflecting the ongoing redevelopment of older celebrity estates throughout Encino, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, and other high-value Valley neighborhoods.
For longtime Valley history and celebrity real estate followers, this is another example of how many once-notable homes are quietly disappearing. The original estate may be gone, but its history remains part of the San Fernando Valley’s celebrity real estate record.
