This home was previoulsy purchased at the peak of the last housing bubble on May 2, 2006 for $522,000 so looks like the seller will be taking a small loss. Ray Kappe was born in 1927 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1972, he left the Department of Architecture at Cal Poly Pomona to start the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) with a group of faculty and students. He has designed many mid-century modern homes in the Southern California with a good number in the SFV area including the Strimling Residence in Encino discussed on this blog.
