Valley Vista: Art in the San Fernando Valley, ca. 1970-1990 examines for the first time the unique contribution of the San Fernando Valley to Los Angeles’ art history.
Curated by Professor Damon Willick of Loyola Marymount, the exhibition and its accompanying catalog look beyond the stereotypes of the Valley as little more than a suburban cultural wasteland, and, instead, offer an alternative narrative documenting the Valley’s unrecognized yet substantial role in LA’s emergence as a center of contemporary art activity.
