Back on April 16, 2015, the always informative Lauren Beale at LA Times Hot Property revealed that the original 1932 Encino home also known as the Woodley Estate built for The Wizard of the Oz choreographer, Bobby Connolly, hit the market on May 11, 2015 for $3.9 million and is currently in a pending status as of July 21, 2015.

According to the LA Times, the home was originally on 30 acres sold off by early owner, Alvino Rey, who was a big band and swing musician. Also, the home was originally owned by Gary Crosby, an actor/singer and the son of Bing Crosby, and then astronaut, Gordon Cooper, who sold on July 8, 1999 to the current owners for $900k.

The current owners carefully restored and decorated the property including hiring landscape architect, Christine London, to makeover the grounds. According to the owners, "Judy Garland sang at the grand piano in the living room while the bar was filled with film stars of the era." A cool article about the property, its history, and the current owners can bread in the Holiday 2014 edition of Ventura Blvd Magazine. Believer it or not, the current owners also own a 1.65 acre Encino property built in 1934 that was formerly owned by actors Ann Dvorak and Leslie Fenton.

The property measures 4 Beds/3 Baths on 3,674 sqft  on a total lot size of 0.63 acres built in 1932. The listing description states:
Situated on over half a flat acre, this 4 bedroom hacienda-style home feels like a private villa! Lovingly restored to retain its original 1930's charm with original signed tile floors in the main house, vaulted wood ceilings, arched entry doors & alcoves, stained glass windows & American Encaustic tiling finishes all contributing to a sense of timeless elegance. Sprawling yards on either side of the home are meticulously maintained & equipped w/ outdoor patios perfect for indoor-outdoor entertaining. Designed by renowned landscape architect Christine London, the fully gated & secure grounds include 16 imported mature olive trees, citrus trees & beautifully curated shrubs framing picturesque scenes throughout the property. An oversized heated swimming pool neighbors a graciously-proportioned 1 bedroom guest house equipped with a full kitchen, living room, full bath and secluded garden area in the back. Secure-access parking & additional bonus room w/ en suite full bath off the garage.
