Celebrity Real Estate: Scott Baio Purchases in Woodland Hills

The always hilarious Your Mama at the Realestalker has just posted that Scott Baio purchased a home in the Westchester County Estates in Woodland Hills. This home was purchased in November 2010 for $1,890,000. This home spreads out over 6,312 sqft with 5 Bed/4.5 Baths and includes a home theater amongst other amenities. Most remember Scott Baio from Charles in Charge and the recent reality TV show, Scott Baio is 45....And Single. I dont know what he is doing now nor do I care.

Prior to this purchase, Baio lived in what some call the Beverly Hills of the San Fernando Valley: Encino. He was a long time resident having purchased the home in 1994 for $1,385,000 which boasts 4 Bed/4.5 Bath in 4,403 sqft. This home was sold in Sept 2010 for $2,500,000 which was originally listed at $2,895,000.Thats a cool profit of $1,115,000 over 16 years not including taxes, fees, and commissions.

I dont know why he moved besides to get more house and some profit from the Encino sale. It could be the pressures from his new wife and child. But I think Your Mama at the Realestalker summarized it best by saying:
Your Mama can't fathom why a person would trade a gated mini-estate in Encino–already far more suburban than we care for–that has a long celebrity-style gated drive, a wide swathe of lawn, elevated swimming pool, spa, gazebo with home-theater equipment, barbecue area, Koi pond with waterfall and a lighted damn tennis court for a big ol' beige "Mediterranean" mcmansionwith fewer amenities on less than half the land in downmarket Woodland Hills. Such are the ways, butter balls, of the rich, the famous and the "famous."
Another interesting tidbit to this story is that Baio is now neighbors with Dr. Dre who lives just a couple of houses down. Also Brad Garret of Everybody Loves Raymond, used to live in this gated community from 1998 - 2005.
